UnixWorld Archive Area Files Last updated: April 14, 1996 Files listed here are named relative to /published/unix-world directory in the ftp.uu.net change-root environment directory tree. Files on this server may be older than those on our Web server: . However, I'll try to update this archive monthly. Besides HTML-format files, we're also supplying plain-text (*.txt) and compressed PostScript (*.ps.gz) versions of many files. These other formats are produced using the "Save As" function of Netscape-1.1N. The PostScript files were created while viewing a document with "huge" point size of the default (Times Roman) font. After September 8, 1995 PostScript files were saved from Netscape-2.0 using Times (Adobe) at 12 pts and Courier (Adobe) at 12pts typefaces. Starting January 1, 1996, articles will be saved from Netscape-2.0 using 18-point New Century Schoolbook (Adobe) and Courier (Adobe) fonts. **************************************************************** * * * Check this file to determine path names if your download * * is unsuccessful because we may be rearranging the hierarchy. * * * **************************************************************** ----------------------------------------------------------------- FILE MANIFEST: index (this file) ls-lR (ls -lR listing of this archive area) *********************************************************************** * * The following files are listings from the technical--eventually * known as the "Hands-On" section--of UnixWorld magazine, which * was renamed Open Computing as of the January 1994 issue. * *********************************************************************** ans2unix/1991: jan91 feb91 mar91 apr91 may91 jun91 jul91 aug91 sep91 oct91 nov91 ans2unix/1992: jan92 feb92 mar92 apr92 may92 jun92 jul92 aug92 sep92 oct92 ans2unix/1993: jan93 feb93 mar93 apr93 may93 jun93 jul93 aug93 sep93 oct93 nov93 ans2unix/1994: jan94 feb94 mar94 apr94 may94 jun94 jul94 aug94 sep94 oct94 nov94 dec94 grabbag: guidelines grabbag/1989: jan89 feb89 mar89 apr89 may89 jun89 jul89 aug89 sep89 oct89 nov89 index89 grabbag/1990: jan90 feb90 mar90 apr90 may90 jun90 jul90 aug90 sep90 oct90 nov90 index90 grabbag/1990/Aug: login.shr grabbag/1991: jan91 feb91 mar91 apr91 may91 jun91 jul91 aug91 sep91 oct91 nov91 index91 grabbag/1992: jan92 feb92 mar92 apr92 may92 jun92 jul92 aug92 sep92 oct92 nov92 dec92 index92 grabbag/1993: jan93 feb93 mar93 apr93 may93 jun93 jul93 aug93 sep93 oct93 nov93 dec93 index93 grabbag/1994: jan94 feb94 mar94 apr94 may94 jun94 jul94 aug94 sep94 oct94 nov94 dec94 index94 tutorial/1990: jan90 feb90 mar90 apr90 may90 jun90 jul90 nov90 dec90 tutorial/1991: jan91 feb91 mar91 may91 jun91 jul91 aug91 sep91 oct91 nov91 dec91 tutorial/1992: feb92 apr92 may92 jun92 jul92 aug92 sep92 oct92 nov92 dec92 passwd+.tar pathalias-9.5.tar.Z sendmail-5.65c+IDA-1.4.4.1.tar.Z-split tutorial/1993: jan93 feb93 mar93 apr93 may93 jun93 jul93 aug93 sep93 oct93 nov93 tutorial/1994: jan94 feb94 mar94 apr94 may94 jun94 jul94 aug94 sep94 oct94 nov94 dec94 xadvantage/1993: jan93 feb93 mar93 apr93 may93 jun93 jul93 aug93 (column cancelled as of November 1993 issue) pc-unix/1994 mar94 ************************************************************************* * * The following files are also resident on our Web server: * * * ************************************************************************* archives/88/newtounix: #
