The Intel 4004 uses 16 scratch pad registers and one accumulator. Each register contains 4 bits of data. The registers are displayed in decimal notation (00-15).
The accumulator (A) also contains 4 bits of data (00-15).
SP shows the nesting level in the pseudo stack on the 4004. A nesting level of zero means that the stack is empty. The maximum nesting level is 3.
Next to the nesting level is the return address in hex of the current subroutine.
The program counter (PC) is displayed in hex
(000-fff).
To the right of the program counter are two
bytes in hex showing the current instruction.
To the right of the current instruction are the
status flags (CT). C = carry and T = test.
The letters CT are followed by two
periods to indicate zero values for the status
flags.
